What is it about Asian horror movies? They just have to keep making them in English, and in the case of Shutter, I think they should have left it in Thailand. I didn’t have much better to say about ‘The Ring’ or ‘The Eye’ , but they were somewhat interesting (and Japanese). I am a super huge horror movie fan, and it took me 2 tries to get this movie watched. I didn’t like it AT ALL. I knew what was going to happen before it happened the whole way through (give me atleast ONE suprise, PLEASE), it didn’t have a very good plot, it’s been done before, and instead of starring actual famous people, it only had Joshua Jackson.. I’m sorry to tell you Joshie, but this one isn’t going to bring you back. Oh, and the ’scary’ background music was annoying. My recommendation… avoid it at all costs.
Now, on to the good.
The Other Boleyn Girl was pretty good. There was very little non-fiction, only the names and the beheading… but that made a story that anyone who knows their history suprised about. The costumes were cool, the actors were good (except for Bana… I can’t take him seriously since The Hulk) It was like a fancy, schmancy soap opera that ended horribly. It was good to know what was coming though. I mean, if you paid attention in history, you know what happened to Ann Boleyn, but the story leading up to that was pretty revealing. I’d watch it again, and suggest you could too.
Happy Movie Watching.
