Where did Halloween go?

Gone has been the day where you seen groups of children wandering the streets looking for their yearly fix of treats in the dark. Gone are the days where you got pillow cases full of treats from pillaging multiple houses of spookiness. Gone are the days where you get  bus load after bus load of children. where did they go? Are they too scared to go out and about? are their parents afraid they won’t be safe? why take them to a brightly lit community centre or mall for a one stop Halloween trick or treat? it ruins the essence of Halloween. it makes no sense to dress a kid up in a $30 – $40 dollar outfit to drive to a crowded mall or community centre and then go home. Sure your kid might wear the outfit to school and that short time  in the mall or community centre but why can’t you show the outfit off to your neighbours and community the traditional way. Even better yet make your own costumes its cheap plus it puts your kids imagination to work and that is worth more then just spending money on a one time costume that the kid probably breaks while at the community centre or mall. If you are afraid of something happening with your kids go with them. You can dress up too ya know their should be no age limit to Halloween, their isn’t for the other events like Christmas or  Thanksgiving. You might just have fun  trick or treating with your kids and you might get some family bonding and a extremely big sugar rush for the following while but you had fun getting scared or scaring people. How many of the children know the trick or treat song? how many people do a trick  for a treat? please bring Halloween back!
