Batman Arkham Asylum Review

August 30th, 2009

Hey, This is NHouseman giving you another review. This time for Batman Arkham Asylum.
The Basic storyline of this game is Batman(you) have just captured (easily) The Joker and are returning him to Arkham. He then breaks free and you find out that Harely Quinn and The Joker had an evil plan to mutate people into Bain without the huge pack on their back. You use your stealth, detective skills ( a lot) and your gadgets to help you through out the game.

The Controls are simple and user friendly.  EliteGD pointed out he didn’t like it because there was no jumping button, but keep in my mind if you have his grapple gun and line launcher to help you zip up to a ledge or glide across a hole or onto a gargoyle you don’t really need to jump.  Plus, if you double tap “A” you can evade or jump over a person to dodge a punch. The wepaons and armour can be upgraded throughout the game to help in your fight against Jokers henchmen.

The graphics are awesome, very detailed, but you lose a lot of it because you end up using detective mode a lot. They could have tweeked it so you didn’t lose the detail but still get to see the unseen.

You get to see a few of the characters. I haven’t completed it yet but you get to see The Joker (of Course), Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Bain , Scarecrow, Mr Zsasz and Poison Ivy. Oh and I think a cameo of Clayface walking around in his cell. You also get sent on a wild goose chase by the Riddler looking for secret items like hidden Question mark trophies and spray paintings ( I’ll show you in the video I’ll post later) you have to find his clues through out the game and get awarded bonus info like Character tapes & maps & bios.

Overall I like this game! I Give it an 8 out of 10. I also Saved like Twenty dollars buying it at Wal-mart for $40 when everywhere else it was $60.

Next on my Choping Block NHL10. Did they fix the huge issues from NHL09 like the disk read errors that made me sell my game, or did they add more problems to the mix.

GhostBusters

June 28th, 2009

Hey This is NHouseman Reviewing Ghostbusters the game. First off, I started up the game and thought it should be a multi-player game because it does have the capabilities, but it isn’t unless you go on-line, which is a downer if you and a friend want to play it. You’d have to tell your friend to go home, get his own game, and you’d play it that way instead of just picking up a controller and playing it right there.

The graphics in this game are good, I haven’t noticed a lot of glitches yet and the storyline is good. They (I presume ) got the cast of Ghostbusters to supply their voices for the game. They use their voices for the characters and there is a lot of talking and cinematic scenes. I’d say about half the time you are watching a clip play. The controls are user freindly and the health hud is built into the backpack which I thought was neat and I’m not sure if its been done before. I think this game is a good buy. p.s i wonder why they would suddenly put out a Ghostbusters game . . .. maybe a Ghostbusters III is in the future? Any way this is NHouseman saying “who you going to call ?”

September 29th, 2008

Just a quick Update, the date has been given out see

xbox 360 new dashboard release date – Nov. 19th

Swing over to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/default.htm

Here you will see all of the flash ads are dedicated to all of the new features the new dashboard is to bring us, so if the update isn’t happening right now I would be extremely disappointed.

Looks like we won’t have to wait untill November for all of the nay sayers out there, XBOX 360 rules lol.

UPDATE

To much disappointment everything is stating not until November

“Don’t expect the New Xbox Experience to roll out for over a month. In an interview with Scott Austin, Director of Digitally Distributed Games for Microsoft, IGN was told that the New Xbox Experience will be pushed out to Xbox 360s in November. While talking about new ways that are coming to purchase Xbox Live Arcade games, Austin said, “One of the great things we have with the New Xbox Experience that we’re rolling out in November is that we now have web Marketplace available for our consumers.”

xbox 360 new dashboard release date september?

September 24th, 2008

My xbox has warned me that Xbox live will be going offline for 24 hours on the 29th of September, could this be the New Xbox Dashboard that everyone is looking forward to??

With a message stating it could be down for up to 24 hours, to deliver a new experience it has all of the signs of the new Dash board everyone has been waiting for, I hope it is and it will be very cool to customize and use the new system.

If you call Microsoft’s support line they tell you it’s maintenance  only, but that does not make sense when all of the advertisements  talk about the new experience, also Microsoft has always been tight lipped if something really cool is coming.

We will see in just a few short days, or untill someone finds a press release that debunks this though all together.
